The time is right

Don’t you think that it is funny how we always want to start new things on a Monday? What’s so magical about Monday? When you struggle to get into your new pair of pants the writing is on the wall, in bold letters: You have to do something about your weight. With this realisation comes the thought: I’ll start Monday. Yes, from Monday onwards, no more sugar. From Monday onwards, no more bread. Monday is D-day, no more carbs for me from then on.
And the weekend before Monday we must get rid of all the temptations in the kitchen cupboard. We gorge ourselves on the wrong kind of chocolate and biscuits and everything that will end up in the wrong parts of our bodies, because Monday is D-day. It’s the same with every little habit we want to get rid of. Obviously, you can’t stop smoking in the middle of the week. No, the weekend is coming, but Monday …. Monday is the best day, because…
Monday comes and goes and by the middle of the week when we struggle again to get into those favourite jeans or the coughing gets too bad, then we think, Monday. Monday is the day…
Fortunately, God doesn’t work like this. God doesn’t postpone to Monday or New Year’s Day. No, God’s timing is always exactly right. I am often amazed by people who say that the message reached them at exactly the right time. Again and again people let me know that the breakthrough had come at exactly the right time. Paul quotes from Isaiah 49:8 as proof of God’s timing which is always right: 2… “I heard your call in the nick of time; the day you needed me, I was there to help.” Know that God will always come through for you at the right time.
But more than that – God’s salvation is here. It is time that we make God’s salvation part of our lives. Now is the time. Not Monday. Not New Year’s Day. But now! 2… Well, now is the right time to listen, the day to be helped. Don’t put it off; don’t frustrate God’s work by showing up late, throwing a question mark over everything we’re doing.
And I want to add: Tomorrow may be too late. Monday may be completely too late.
God’s time of salvation is now. Now is the right time and we shouldn’t let the opportunity slip to make peace with God. It may be a sin of some kind that you know you have to get rid of. Maybe you are doing something that you need to stop doing. Maybe it is simply to turn back to God. Maybe it is time to stop your old way of living and walk a new road with God. Maybe now is the time to go and talk to that other person who has been on your mind for so long.
The time is now. Get up now and do it. Tomorrow may just be too late and there might not be another chance.
God heard us at the right time. At exactly the right time God brought salvation. Now is the right time for you to do the right thing.

With what do you struggle?
Do you believe the time is right?
What do you have to go and do now?
Prayer
Father, I believe that You are always on time. You bring the right solution at the right time. I know this is the right time for me to do something too. Please give me the power and wisdom to do it. Amen
