God's word in today's world

God can change circumstances

For 13 years my husband has been unfaithful to me.  He is a long distance truck driver. Although I was unfairly hurt I stood by him. He twice left me and ran off with other women only to return to me later on. My dignity was ruined but I held God’s hand and surrendered my husband to Him.

Now, 13 years later, I at last can see God’s hand in our marriage. My husband began to find his way to God. Introspection eventually made him see the light and confession lead to true repenting.

Today disrespect has been replaced by respect. Where he has been egocentric and selfish he now started looking away from himself and started focussing on me. While he, together with his mother and brother, usually belittled me behind my back and also covered for his mistakes – as well as allowing his mother to interfere – he now began to take her on and support me.

Today I thank God for touching my husband and answering my prayers. Although my trust was hurt because of lies and denial I now pray to God for my trust to recover.

Without noticing, the enemy shattered my trust in God through my husband’s unfaithfulness. It took a long time for me to realise that the enemy used us like pawns playing against each other.

I used to pray but in the meantime depended on my own judgment until God one day said to me: “Let go and let God!.  Then, after years of struggle, my prayers started to fall in place and God took over because, after trying to fight on my own for many years, I eventually gave everything to God.

Today I praise and honor God and I do realise how He gave me strength and carried me through it all.  Praise His Holy Name. Thank you, Daddy.
