Sharing in Jesus’ light and glory
Many people underestimate the power and functioning of the Holy Spirit. That’s probably why the world around us looks like it does. Powerless and chaotic. Many of us no longer hear the Holy Spirit’s guidance, because we’re too busy and too rushed.
The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to us. God knew that we would struggle to remain focused on Him in the hubbub around us. That’s why He gave us the Spirit to help us. He was present even before we could reach out to God. He helped us to accept God.
14Think of it: included in God’s original plan of salvation by the bond of faith in the living truth. This is the life of the Spirit he invited you to through the Message we delivered, in which you get in on the glory of our Master, Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit called and called. He never gets tired. He keeps going until we listen. Then, when we invite Him in, He is there. He doesn’t ask about the condition of his accommodation. He will sort out the mess inside as time goes by. Cleaning, sweeping, throwing away and tidying. That is the process of sanctification. A process in which we are taught to get rid of the worldly things until we can live to glorify God more and more.
God planned for us to share in the same glory and honour that Jesus Christ received in heaven. I can just imagine the celebrations in heaven when Jesus arrived there after his earthly life. Angels singing and standing in awe before Jesus, the Son of God. The throne waiting in readiness for the King.
All of us who believe in Jesus Christ will be welcomed to our eternal home with our Father just like this. The Holy Spirit will help us to be ready for the day we walk into heaven. He wants to make sure that we are suitable for what we are going to receive. Therefore, He wants to help us get rid of the mess of the world. He wants to get every part of our thoughts, words, intentions and actions in line with God’s will for our live.
It’s not always easy and often hurts. Sometimes we have to give up things that we’ve become used to. Fortunately, we know that the Holy Spirit is there to help us.
We must make an effort to make time for the Holy Spirit. We must get in line with the Holy Spirit so that He can guide us to make the right decisions in this burning oven, the world. Then we’ll be ready at the end to enter heaven and share in Jesus’ light and glory.
How much guidance does the Holy Spirit provide in your life?
How far has your sanctification progressed?
Where and when can you be quiet every day?
Wow, Father. I can hardly believe that I will share in Jesus’ light and glory. It feels so unreal. I suspect my life is not even close to your picture of me. The Holy Spirit and I still have a lot of work to do. But I want to and will make more space for the work of the Holy Spirit in my life. Amen.
