The Lord surrounds Crossroads.247 with giants. With this Board we can weather any storm. The Board consists of: Anna-Mart Engelbrecht, Etienne Piek, Gideon Venter, Gideon Hefer,  Herman Kotze, Hein Swart en Gerjo Ben en Renata van der Merwe. Here is a little bit more information about each of them:

Anna-Mart Engelbrecht

What are you doing at the moment? I lecture and do research at Stellenbosch University. Who are you married to and children's names? Natie, 15-year old daughter, Retha. What makes you angry? Dishonesty, people who say they will do something and then don't do it, injustice. Where do you live? Kuils River Where do you get your energy? The be outdoors in nature, horse-riding, lecturing, hiking, being with family, surfing. How do you spend your free time? By taking my family to a beautiful place, preferrably by the sea oor in the mountains. What is your passion? To help students achieve their full potential. What is your calling? To make a difference here where  God has put me. What makes you feel good? When people reach their full potential, sometimes despite very difficult circumstances. What exhausts your energy? To mark two hunderd exam papers. What makes you laugh? Comic situations. What is your shortest, funniest joke? I really can't remember jokes.

Etienne Piek

What are you doing now? SA Regional Manager, Mergon. Are you married and do you have children? Been married to Wilma-Louise Piek for 26 years; two children: Stefan (24) and Marlene (23). What upsets you? People with no drive . . . and the traffic in Cape Town! Where do you live? Somerset West. What energizes you? People! What do you do to relax? I run. What is your calling? To introduce people to Christ and to make them aware of the full life that He offers. I motivate. What makes you feel good? To give meaning to others. To be with my family. What drains your energy? Meetings with no purpose. What makes you laugh? People. I love life!

Gideon Venter

What are you doing now? Find engineering solutions for my clients. Are you married and do you have children? Married to Ilse-Marie; Hendrik and Yvonne. What upsets you? The exploitation of the vulnerable people in society. Where do you live? Stellenbosch. What energizes you? Spending time in nature. What do you do to relax? Drink coffee, run and cycle. What is your calling? To live Jesus’ example. What makes you feel good? To mean something to someone else. What drains your energy? Selfish road users. What makes you laugh? My children.

Gideon Hefer

What are you doing now? Financial Director of an agricultural company. Are you married and do you have children? To Nina; Carla, student; Mico, in matric; Anika, grade 5; three dogs and a cat. What upsets you? People/institutions that exploit vulnerable people. People who only pursue their own interests – especially at the expense of others. Negativity about South Africa (doom & gloom prophets). Hypocrisy. Questionnaires ... no, not really. Where do you live? Die Boord, Stellenbosch. What energizes you? Family, friends and cycling. Team work. Questionnaires. What do you do to relax? Spend time with family, friends, watch rugby and cycle. Do questionnaires. What is your calling? To make a difference ... To be Jesus’ hands and feet – for everyone I meet. What makes you feel good? When people struggle and there’s a breakthrough. To be part of a team. When my family is happy. Questionnaires. What drains your energy? Negative people and people who are satisfied with second best. People who cannot see someone else’s point or who are not prepared to listen to alternative points of view. Conflict about trivialities. Questionnaires. What makes you laugh? A good story. Friends.

Herman Kotzé

What are you doing at the moment? I am a doctor at the Stellenbosch Sports Academy (does sports health and GP work). Who are you married to and children's names? Retha (we've been together since the end of Matric!) Wilna, Cecile, and Herman. What makes you angry? People who are long-winded; those who feel nothing for other people; people who are aware of their status. Where do you live? Stellenbosch. What gives you energy? Any action, sport, music. What do you do in your free time? My wife and I like to talk about the events of the day and the children; like to read the newspaper; mad about exercise. What is your passion? To make my family happy so that one day they can say they have the tools to live life and know Jesus. What is your calling? To help others - see the grace of God in my life. What makes you feel good? When I can help others. What exhausts your energy? Negative people who complain all the time. What makes you laugh? The small funny things in life - people who drive like mad things on the roadWhat is your shortest, funniest joke? Still thinking of one.

Hein Swart

What are you doing now? Managing Director. Are you married and do you have children? Married to Mariette and children, Joa (20), Fourie (16) and Joubert (16). What upsets you? Dishonesty and snobbery. Where do you live? Stellenbosch. What energizes you? Humour, friends and innovation. What do you do to relax? Family Time, kamp, stap en ry fiets. What is your calling? Mentorship and leadership. What makes you feel good? Positive people, nature and harmony. What drains your energy? Violence, corruption and poverty. What makes you laugh? Comedies and jokes.

Gerjo Ben en Renata van der Merwe

What are you doing at the moment? We work full-time for Kruispad.Children's names?Alet-Mari, Mia en Benno.What makes you angry? People who don’t worry about who they step on.Where do you live?Stellenbosch.What gives you energy? People What do you do in your free time?Take the caravan and enjoy nature. What is your calling? To make a difference right here where I am. What makes you feel good? When I managed to get something right and people appreciates it.What exhausts your energy? Exercise. Not an easy thing for me!What makes you laugh? I love listening to jokes and funny stories. What is your shortest, funniest joke?I cannot remember jokes! Really!And that’s why I enjoy other people’s jokes so much!
